Books about tea:

The Tea Party Book

Written by Lucille Recht Penner

Illustrated by Jody Wheeler

Published Random House 1993

I own this one. I've also seen it in both of our libraries (California and Ohio) which leads me to believe that it may be available where you live too. It is a delightful book. Penner describes how to plan and carry out ten simple themed tea parties including decorations and crafts. These are truly "easy to do" tea parties that require no shopping or even advance prepartion. Some of the themes include: A Full-Moon Tea Party, Tea by the Sea, and A Japanese Tea Party.

Let's Have a Tea Party

Written by Emilie Barnes

Illustrated by Sue Junk

Published by Harvest House 1997

This book by the popular writer, Emilie Barnes, is written for little girls. It has pretty drawings and more themes to choose from.

Poetry books:

Published by Black Dog & Leventhal 1997

This wonderful anthology includes poems from famous poets such as William Blake, Lewis Carroll, Robert Frost, Emily Dickinson, Christina Rossetti, Robert Louis Stevenson and more. The poems are categorized: Nature, Family, Poems that Tell a Story, Laughing Lyrics and more.

Dover Thrift Editions

Great Short Poems

Edited by Paul Negri

The best thing about the Dover Thrift Editions is that they only cost $1.00. There is a little paperback book for many authors. We've used the "Great Short Poems" the most for copywork and memorization.
