Language Games
Our new family favorite is “Spinergy.” This game is built around a freewriting principle. You’re given three words to use in the creation of a short ad, aria, slogan, invitation, marriage proposal etc. while an egg timer runs. There’s some strategy involved for how to win and the resulting mini pieces of writing are such a hoot! Why not buy this game and toss the workbooks out all together?
Play with words. Make puns, rhymes, riddles, and jokes. Kids bond to language especially when it’s funny or punny!
Here are some other language games worth purchasing:
- Quiddler (Shown above: card game that requires the players to spell/create words!)
- Scattergories
- Apples to Apples
- Taboo
- Boggle
- Catch Phrase
