Literature Discussion for Junior High

The Boomerang Language Arts program is perfect for your junior high students. It offers them the chance to interact with literature in a non-threatening, investigative way to help them prepare for the more rigorous analytical work ahead of them in high school. The Boomerang itself is a monthly resource that gives dictation passages along with instructions for how to teach the grammar, punctuation and literary elements found in those passages. Brave Writer takes the mystery out of dictation by providing you with all that you need to simply sit down and teach (no preparation required)!

The Boomerang also offers a literature discussion group that meets three weeks out of the month online. For less than $25.00 per month, your kids get to interact with other students and an instructor who helps your kids grow in their literary analysis skills all while encouraging them to to that thinking in writing. Unlike a writing class, however, the discussion is informal (more like freewriting) so that your kids can give maximum attention to their thoughts as they develop them. The Boomerang Complete (including both the Boomerang dictation issue and the discussion forum) is one of our best Brave Writer bargains. If you’ve found the online classes to be daunting (both in price and commitment), the Boomerang Complete gives you the chance to experience the best of what we offer: great interaction and discussion about literature with a trained instructor, while sharing the experience with other homeschooled kids.

Don’t miss the chance to get in on the Boomerang Companion. December’s discussion starts on Dec. 8th. This month’s novel is The View from Saturday. Sign up now!
