Angela is a homeschooling mom to two, never-been-to-school kids. She determined to become a Brave Writer instructor two years ago, after learning that the Brave Writer philosophy mirrored hers.
Born in Southern California and raised on the East Coast, Angela enjoyed a bit of an unconventional education herself, but did not consider homeschooling seriously until the birth of her first child. She has followed a path that will be familiar to other homeschooling families: experimenting with different curricula, developing a philosophy of homeschooling, cooperating with others to provide learning opportunities for children in group settings, and writing about her experiences in online media. She publishes her own blog and has been a regular contributor to Education Revolution and The Homeschool Post.
In September 2011 Angela co-founded Mosaic Freeschool, a cooperative learning community for homeschooled students in New Jersey. In addition to creating and managing the Mosaic website, Angela has taught Journalism, Greek Mythology, and Literary Analysis to its middle and high school students. She relocated with her family to Texas in April 2013 and offered her first creative writing class in September of that year. She continues to share her love of literature and writing with her students in New Jersey and Texas.
Angela holds a B.A. in Speech, with an emphasis in Theater Arts, from Northwestern State University.
