Arrow Myth and Legend
Designed for use with children between 4 - 12 years old
The specialty issues of the Arrow offer you writing projects to do with your children based on the kind of reading you do together naturally throughout the year. The Arrow Myth and Legend issue is specially designed to deepen your child’s enjoyment of mythology and legends.
Anyone with a couple of kids has been treated to an afternoon of dress-ups featuring Robin Hood capes or King Arthur swords. Children are mesmerized by the stuff of legends. This issue of the Arrow will describe the literary characteristics of myth and legend (how they are similar and how they differ). We’ll also look at how to maximize the use of myth and legend with your children. Finally, I’ll offer you writing suggestions that use the specific elements for each type of myth and legend to help your children play with mythology and legend-making themselves!
